The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 29 – Dec. 5, 2024. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Burglary – S Broad St; Yahweh Tree Service – In reference to Complainant reporting four chainsaws and a leaf blower had been taken from inside his business over the weekend. CID was notified and responded.
- Dispute – Cook St. – In reference to a male and female disputing on location. The report was taken, and an arrest was made for Battery FV.
- Civil issue – Stonecreek Dr.- In reference to the complainants relative trying to kick them out of the residence without eviction notice, parties advised of the proper eviction process.
- Dispute – Gatewood Way; In reference to the complainant and her adult daughter disputing. Daughter was arrested simple battery – family violence.
- Suspicious vehicle – Davis Street – Reference Black Nissan Passenger car parked on her lawn. Made contact with the driver who was an employee of a cable company. Driver left upon request, vehicle not stolen.
- Traffic Stop/Arrest – South Madison Avenue at Pannel Road. Female subject was stopped for multiple traffic offenses. A search of her vehicle found her to be in possession of Schedule I narcotic and underage possession of nicotine/tobacco products. She was arrested and turned over to the Walton County Jail without incident.
- Juvenile Runaway – Walton Road – In reference to a 13-years-of-age juvenile running away after leaving a note. The juvenile was located on Ridge Road and returned home to her parents.
- Vehicle Unlock – Masters Dr – Complainant was able to unlock the vehicle before officer’s arrival.
- Suspicious Person – Hwy 11; Frank’s Valero – Subject operating a bike on the wrong side of the roadway with no lights. Verbally warned and released from the scene.
- Suspicious Vehicle – Maple Ln – In reference to a Ford Expedition parked in the middle of the roadway of the apartment complex. Contact was made with owner who advised the vehicle broke down and she was waiting on friends to assist in a tow. No action taken.
- Agency Assist – North Broad St @ Sorrells St; In reference to Walton County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance with a disabled vehicle. Officers were able to push the vehicle and remove it from the roadway.
- Juvenile Complaint – Bridge Port Ln. Student not wanting to go to school. Student was transported to Monroe Area High School.
- Wanted Person – East Highland Ave @ Revive Hair Salon; In reference to subject on location with active warrants. Subject was arrested and transported to Walton County Jail without incident.
- Accident – Highway 138 / Michael Etchison Rd – Reference three vehicle auto accident with minor injuries. Driver 1 was cited with failure to yield while turning left. Accident report completed in GEARS.
- Fraud report – S. Madison Ave – Reference complainant sending money via gift card to a person claiming to work for WCSO. Complainant advised the gift card and money was sent in Social Circle. Advised Complainant to make a report with SPD.
- Damage to Property – Edwards St; In reference to someone slashing the complainant’s tires. Report taken.
- Suspicious Vehicle – Ford St.- Complainant reported a vehicle parked on location for a year. Vehicle was not stolen and Complainant was advised of remedies.
- Dispute – Wheel House lane – Reference Complainant wanting two subjects off of his property. A resident gave both subjects permission to be there.
- 10-57 – 2 vehicle private property accident, at fault vehicle left the scene. The owner of the vehicle stated he loaned the vehicle to another person to go to Walmart to purchase light bulbs for his truck taillights.
- Discharged Firearm – Poplar Street – In reference to Complainant reporting of a single gunshot heard near the airport property and seeing a male run across the field. Area checked; negative contact made.
- Traffic Stop/Arrest – Charlotte Rowell/Pavilion Pkwy – Vehicle stopped for obstructed tag. Subject was placed under arrest for two warrants out of Newton Co for Failure to Appear and Probation Violation. Transported to WCSO without incident.
- Civil Issue – North Broad; Quality Inn – In reference to a subject being locked out of their room. Staff was on location attempting to gain access.
- Mechanical Breakdown – Poplar Street – In reference to complainant being broken down off the roadway and needing a tow. Taylor’s towing was contacted by request of the driver. Nothing further.
- Suspicious Person – Mill Street – In reference to observing a male sneaking into a window of the residence. Subject, who lives on location, locked his keys inside his residence and entered through a window. Subject was identified and verified by neighbors that he lives on location. Nothing further.
- Suspicious Vehicle – Baron Drive- In reference to a Honda Civic parked on location since Monday. Contact made with owner who advised she was calling a tow truck for the vehicle today.
- Narcotics Complaint – Piedmont Pkwy – Anonymous complainant advised a male worker is selling narcotics. Info passed on.
- Trespassing – Pine park – In reference to two property owners complaining about two males loitering in their car on the property. Contact made with suspects who advised they were visiting family at the address listed. They were advised to stay inside the residence instead of in the parking lot. Complainants advised they were visiting and had a right to be on location. Report taken.
- Suspicious Vehicle – Breedlove Dr; Ridgeview – In reference to a report of a vehicle on location for multiple weeks. Vehicle found to belong to a patient.
- Traffic Stop/Arrest – Hwy 78 EB at Aycock Ave – Female driver stoped for traffic violation. She was placed under arrest for an active Felony Violation of Probation warrant out of Walton County. Turned over to WCSO without incident.
- Runaway Juvenile – King St. – In reference 6-year-old male running away from home over a dispute with his mother, child was returned to his mother.
- Fraud – Brookeland Ct – Complainant believed that a fraudulent account had been opened in her name. It was determined the account was not fraudulent. Report taken.
- Disable Vehicle – HWY 78 W at South Broad St in reference to a broken down vehicle on the side of the road.
