Monroe GA Breakthrough in Cold Case Homicide Investigation: Arrest Warrant Issued

     The Monroe Police Department, in collaboration with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), announces a significant development in a longstanding cold case homicide investigation. After years of tireless work and recent breakthroughs in the case, law enforcement has secured an arrest warrant for QUAMELL LAMONTE SAUNDERS, 29 years old, now charged with the murder of ANTHONY MYRON SIMS. Saunders is also charged with malice murder, aggravated assault, and theft by taking. 

     The case, which has remained unsolved since 2016, saw renewed attention through the combined efforts of local and state investigators, advanced forensic techniques, and the community's cooperation. This development reinforces our commitment to solving even the most challenging cases, no matter how much time has passed. 

     While this milestone is a critical step forward, the investigation remains ongoing.
