In a recent announcement, Aldi has issued a recall for its Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos due to potential metal contamination. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) reported the recall on January 13, 2025, affecting approximately 24,870 pounds of the frozen product.

The recall was initiated after Bestway Sandwiches Inc., the manufacturer, received a consumer complaint about finding a metal fragment in the product. Additionally, there has been one reported case of a dental injury related to consuming these taquitos.
The recalled taquitos were distributed to Aldi stores across 31 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.
FSIS is concerned that some products may still be in consumers' freezers. Customers who have purchased the affected taquitos are urged to:
