     President Donald Trump has launched a sweeping overhaul of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), branding it a "tremendous fraud" that prioritized "woke pet projects over American interests" — a stark reversal from policies once championed by his own family. The move has energized his base while exposing tensions between the administration's populist agenda and legacy initiatives tied to Melania and Ivanka Trump. The White House announced this week that 90% of USAID staff will be placed on administrative leave, with only "mission-critical" personnel remaining to oversee what Trump calls a "total reset" of foreign aid. "For decades, bureaucrats treated your tax dollars like Monopoly money to fund gender studies in Gaza and save hieroglyphics while our own cities crumbled," Trump told supporters at a Phoenix rally. "That ends today." 

     Key reforms include an immediate freeze on all diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, an audit of $50 million Women's Global Development Fund (W-GDP) launched by Ivanka Trump in 2019, and redirected funds to border security and domestic energy projects."We'll help American moms before Moroccan coffee shops," Trump declared, referencing Ivanka's 2018 Ethiopia trip where she touted a USAID-backed women's coffee enterprise. The policy shift directly contradicts First Lady Melania Trump's 2018 Africa tour, where she praised USAID's textbook programs in Malawi and groundwater projects at Egypt's Sphinx. "When societies are freer and more educated, America is stronger," she told ABC News during the visit. Administration officials now dismiss those remarks as "well-intentioned but naive." 

     Mrs. Trump's eyes were opened to the rot after seeing $2 million go to cocoa farmers while our own kids can't read," said Senior Adviser Stephen Miller. "That's why she fully supports the president's America First vision. Trump supporters cite the USAID overhaul as proof of his commitment to drain the swamp. "Ivanka meant well, but you can't fix Africa while California's homeless eat from trash cans," said Janine from Ohio. Carlos, a Texas construction business owner, added: "My business boomed after Trump killed the DEI crap. Now do the rest." Linda from Florida remarked: "Melania's a class act, but she's not in charge. Thank God President Trump is." 

     Critics argue the moves contradict the Trump family's own legacy. In 2019, Ivanka insisted USAID's women's programs were "national security priorities," telling ABC News: "Empowering women abroad makes America safer." The administration now calls that rationale "globalist fantasy." 

      America First Aid Plans for the revamped USAID include a Border First Initiative using seized cartel assets to fund medical clinics in U.S. border towns, Energy Dominance Partnerships deploying fracking experts to help allies like Poland bypass Russian gas, and Patriot Scholarships redirecting $200 million from global gender programs to STEM scholarships in Appalachia. As protesters gathered outside USAID's shuttered D.C. headquarters chanting "Shame!", Trump remained defiant. "Let them scream about pronouns and pyramids," he tweeted. "Real Americans want safe streets, cheap gas, and kids who can do math."
