Four teenagers, ranging in age from 14 to 17, were hospitalized Saturday night following a shooting at Briscoe Park in Snellville, Georgia. The incident occurred just after 9 p.m., when a confrontation between two large groups escalated into gunfire, according to witnesses and local authorities.
Police responded to reports of shots fired at the popular community park, which features recreational facilities and typically closes at 10 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found four teens suffering from gunshot wounds. All were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The current conditions of the victims have not been released, and their identities remain undisclosed as of Sunday morning.
A witness at the scene described the chaotic moments leading up to the shooting, recounting how two crowds began arguing before shots rang out. "I already knew when I saw the crowds coming it was going to be a commotion," said Zedrick Patterson, who was at the park with friends. "All I hear is, 'Boom, boom, boom, boom,' and I'm gone!" Patterson said he took cover behind a brick wall until the gunfire ceased.
Authorities have not announced any arrests, and the identity of the shooter is still unknown. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is leading the inquiry and has asked anyone with information to come forward. Snellville police have set up a tip line for the public as investigators work to determine what led to the violence.
Officials emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to public safety, but the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement continues to follow up on leads and process evidence from the scene
