Constitutional Betrayal: Exposing the Rogue Departments Targeting Their Own While Honoring the True Standard of the Thin Blue Line

Between GA-   Charles Allen, the founder and Chief Editor of Between Community News, brings a unique and grounded perspective to local journalism as a retired electrician and a dedicated advocate for his community. His work is rooted in a deep respect for the rule of law and a steadfast commitment to the principles of the United States Constitution. Between Community News was established as a platform to cut through the "BS" of mainstream media gaslighting and provide the residents of Walton County and the surrounding areas with the unvarnished truth.

Under Charles’s leadership, the publication serves as a watchdog for the people, championing the rights of citizens while supporting the vital institutions that keep our society safe and functional. Based on extensive research and direct observation, a disturbing and paradoxical pattern has emerged within certain pockets of law enforcement across our great country. In many blue states, counties, and cities—where rhetoric regarding "equity" and "social justice" is most loud—we find the highest concentrations of bad police departments and rogue officers who consistently and flagrantly violate the constitutional rights of the very citizens they are sworn to protect.

These bad actors, oddly enough, seem to target their own constituents with a predatory focus, particularly in underprivileged neighborhoods. Instead of acting as a shield for the vulnerable, these departments function as a source of harassment, undermining the foundation of trust upon which a free society depends. These "bad players" are a cancer within the profession, and their continued existence is an insult to every officer who puts on the badge with honor and integrity.

It is a bitter irony that the same political establishments that claim to be the champions of the "underprivileged" often preside over the most aggressive and unconstitutional policing practices. These departments operate with a sense of impunity, seemingly emboldened by a lack of real oversight and a political culture that prioritizes optics over the actual protection of individual liberties. This is not a failure of law enforcement as a whole, but a specific, localized rot that must be aggressively identified and rooted out. These bad cops are not just failing their jobs; they are actively betraying the American experiment and providing ammunition to those who wish to dismantle the thin blue line altogether.

To support our police, we must be the first to demand that the bad ones are stripped of their authority and held to the highest standard of the law they have seen fit to ignore.

In stark and refreshing contrast, we need only look to our own backyard for a prime example of what law enforcement should look like. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office, under current Sheriff Keith Brooks,  stands as a beacon of no-nonsense, effective policing that remains fair, understanding, and deeply rooted in the community.

Here, in Walton County GA,  the focus is on genuine public safety and the protection of the innocent, rather than the harassment of the constituency. This department demonstrates that it is entirely possible to be tough on crime and uncompromising on safety while remaining a respected and trusted pillar of the community. We must vigorously support and fund departments like Walton County while simultaneously launching a relentless campaign against the rogue elements in other jurisdictions.

Our country depends on the rule of law, and the rule of law depends on officers who understand that their primary duty is the preservation of the constitutional rights of every citizen they encounter. Between Community News remains dedicated to this crucial oversight.
